Residential deck coating using Sika® traffic application

Customer’s Challenge: Completely deteriorated plywood decking caused by improper deck coating and continual exposure to rain and moisture in Pacific Heights.

Solution by Kurihara Contracting: A covered outdoor deck is more than additional
square footage to a home. It may be considered a luxury to some, as it provides much-needed space for families to gather or for serene time alone, perfect for reading a book or enjoying some morning brew. For this badly damaged deck, we started by completely removing and disposing of all existing plywood decking. We then installed a new ¾” treated plywood decking and followed with Sika® DeckPro Traffic System, entirely encapsulating and waterproofing the new deck from the elements.
